With her work including lenses, magnifiers and optical instruments, Mirjam Kuitenbrouwer is displaying the spectators different imageries. The wall sculpture using the big black&white photograph as background taken with the camera obscura she has produced has a character which contains many materials and techniques in its composition. The work basically making reflection to the light factor, invites the viewers to think and to examine the various images with the perception of light. On her wall sculpture where she added results one by one like a scientific experiment, there are images achieved by many techniques from black&white photograph prints to Polaroid shots. The majority of the photographs each of which represents a separate visual research, bring to the viewer images of the artist's workshop. As attentive eyes would be able to pick, the artist, instead of presenting the viewers an interpretation achieves to make her work open-ended by presenting them different possibilities of interpretation.
